"It's ok. You do have a job to do. And, honestly, my friend was bound to text sooner or later. He always does," Phoebe said. Although that was probably an understatement; she had more texts back and forth with Zesty than anyone else in her phone. which wasn't a surprise considering her contacts were minimal, but also sad if she talked with him more than her own parents. though, in her defense, it was a lot easier to converse with someone who was a medical student and also lives in the same suite. "But I do like talking to you, too." She zipped up her backpack and then rose from her seat. She placed her bag on the chair before stepping over to the counter to grab a container - fortunately they were usually very good at leaving boxes out for people to take home leftovers here. Phoebe opted to put the chicken in the box only; it was sad to see the rest of the fries go to waste, but they would just never be the same after the first cooking.
At vis suggestion, Phoebe rose an eyebrow. She straightened her stance after closing the box up. "Well I don't know about the universe, but I have plans with my homework for the next...undetermined amount of time. Fortunately not all of it in my dorm; I'll be around." She faced Percy and noticed ve extended ver hand but then took it back. Ve looked like ve was going to try to shake her hand but that wasn't right. Aside from the fact that it was too formal, Phoebe really only liked to shake hands when it came to working, interviews or maybe meeting someone for the first time. But when she actually sat with someone and talked? When she got along with someone? When she was friends with them or, at the very least, could see a friendship forming, handshakes were far from the norm. Then ve asked her what she preferred. Well, that was easy. But for Percy to be alright with it? That was another matter. "I prefer hugs," she told ver. "But if you don't want to or aren't comfortable with it then it's ok. We don't have to."
