The High School, visible from the gates. (Pretend it doesn't say 'Bauhaus')

The reference school of Metric Academy is Bauhaus school of architecture and design.
Salem, CA, 2016.
Salem is located in northern California, abut 30 minutes away from the coastline. It's not the most northern part of California, but it's certainly not near Hollywood. Salem gets chilly during the fall and winter months but its winters and falls are nothing like they are on the East Coast. Salem has been around for decades, but the town's key feature is easily Metric Arts Academy, which sits proudly within the city. Many business owners and investors have come to Salem because of the high population of students and families who move to Salem for the school. Uptown Salem is always bustling with activity and is considered to be generally safe.
The downtown area of Salem is not necessarily dangerous but much less kept. Most of Salem's budget goes towards the areas closer to the Academy, so the farther away you go, the less fancy the area looks. Salem's streets are grid-like as opposed to the chaotic organization of the East Coast. Though downtown is usually well lit and just as traversable as uptown, there are sketchier neighborhoods and areas that Metric Students are warned against going to in fear of being robbed or kidnapped. Fears of High School students wandering into deep downtown are what prompted the Academy to instigate the curfews on High School students.
Salem is densely populated, and home to many. Current roleplay takes place during the Spring semester of the 2016-2017 academic year.
