With both of their busy schedules it took a bit longer to get in touch with West than he would have liked. But thank goodness they finally did. And what was more, West remembered Laffie. He didn't know why he was so worried he would be forgotten: their kissing session was not one Laffie would be forgetting any time soon.

The plans they had made in order for Laffie to 'repay' West's kindness involved seeing a movie together. The choices were Fifty Shades Darker and the Lego Batman Movie. Laffie would be fine with either, honestly, btu he would wait until West showed up for them to make the decision.

Laffie had a habit of being somewhere earlier than expected. Andy and Quil were dropped off at Grandma's and would be watched over through the morning. Not that Laffie really expected anything but it didn't hurt to have his bases covered. He sighed and glanced at the clock nearby, shoving his hands into his pockets.

West's Outfit
It had been a long time since West went on an actual date. Typically he’d just pick a chick up at a bar, take them home, and spend the rest of the night in bed. This was a refreshing change of pace; however, he did kind of hope they’d keep the date at his house. Oh well, he had not been to the movie theaters in months and they were actually playing some decent films. He’d taken a look at what they had to offer and found a few options he wouldn’t mind seeing.

West left his apartment with just enough time to get there at the time they’d set to meet. He never was very good at making it to things on time. His students knew that all too well. After pulling up to the theater, he gave himself a quick once over in the rearview mirror before smiling contently.

It took him awhile to find Laffie but once he finally did he was rather impressed. Damn, he looked good tonight! West approached Emmett with a grin. ”Waiting for someone?” he inquired with a raised brow.

He tried to remember the last time he had been on a first date. it certainly had been an even longer time than that of his last lay. So no wonder he was kind of nervous. He tried to go over greetings in his head. Handshake was too.. friendly and formal but a hug seemed too.. He didn't know. Maybe he could avoid just touching West in greeting in any way? It seemed like a good plan.

He did perk up when he heard that familiar voice come up beside him. Turning his head, Laffie grinned. "Hey, just who I wanted to see!" His hand ended up hovering by West's back. Well that was friendly yet intimate enough, it worked! Glancing at the ticket booth he motioned to it with his head. "Not many choices but I wouldn't say no to any of them."

Actually part of him thought it would be entertaining to see the Fifty Shades movie with West. But again, he wanted to see what West thought.

West chuckled at Emmett’s cheery reaction to seeing him. He hoped the other man had not been waiting too long for him. The brief hand he placed on his back was welcome and honestly relieved him because he did not know if kissing or hugging would really be the proper greeting. He was clearly rusty with the whole dating etiquette thing.

When he mentioned the available movies, West turned to look at the ticket booth. His eyes glided over the options before a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. The Lego Batman movie did seem cute but honestly he didn’t want to subject any little kids to what might occur in the darkness of the theater. ”How about Fifty Shades Darker? Sounds like my kind of movie,” he suggested with a smirk.

He would never admit it, but he totally watched the first one at least five times. In fact, it was what turned him onto BDSM in the first place. Sure the portrayal wasn’t very accurate when he actually looked into the community but that did not mean it wasn’t still hot.

A faint smile crossed his lips when West mentioned the Fifty Shades Darker being his choice. Reachign into his back pocket for his wallet-- they had sort of decided Laffie would be paying since it was sort of his way of thanking West--he walked up to the ticket booth and slid the cash over. "Two for Fifty Shades.."

The woman there glanced first at him then West and lifted a brow quizzically with a smirk. Laffie ignored it best he could and retrieved the tickets, turning to West and offering his hand to the other man as they went inside. "What do you want from the concession stand?"

He turned to look at West, smiling faintly. His personal favorite was gummy bears and no matter what he had to have them. He always found it interesting when it came to finding out what other people got at the movies.

He noticed the woman at the ticket booths reaction at their request. West couldn’t blame her. Two hot guys seeing a movie about BDSM together? Perhaps it was a little weird. He just smiled at the woman and gave her a wink. ”Thanks, dear,” he commented in passing to the still rather perplexed woman.

He glanced down at Emmett’s extended hand like his students looked at him when he gave a pop quiz. Hand holding? That was new territory for him. West did not want to come off as rude, especially after Emmett had paid for his ticket, so he slipped his hand in Laffie’s. That felt…odd. West then focused on what his date was asking him. ”Popcorn will do…standard movie treat,” he replied with a smile.

The brief moment his hand was hanging in the air felt like an eternity and the whole time Emmett was mentally screaming at himself. Had he just crossed a line? Did he go too far too fast? Oh shit, why did he-- But then West's hand was slipped into his, a warmth spreading up his arm.

He nodded at the mention of popcorn. Of course, what was a movie without popcorn? The thought of not having it seemed... Well, Emmett was unable to think of the word but it was a terrible idea! There were only about two people ahead of them and their selections were not that complicated so the two of them reached the concessions counter quite quickly.

"One large popcorn, please." He spoke, glancing at West with a small smile. "And a package of M&Ms and a box of gummy bears.." He turned to West. "Anything else?"

West found it hard to take his eyes off their clasped hands. It just felt so foreign to hold someone’s hand. Of course he’d done it before but never romantically. Was he losing his cool factor? God, he hoped not. If any of his friends saw him doing this they would make fun of him for sure. Oh well, he was in the company of a hot guy so nothing else mattered at the moment.

He waited patiently as Emmett ordered their concessions for the movie. ”And a large soda, two straws,” West added with a wink. They probably could have shared a straw but sharing with two straws was supposed to be romantic, wasn’t it? He smiled to himself. And people say he didn’t have a romantic bone in his body!

He couldn't help the small smirk that made it onto his lips. one drink, two straws? He hadn't expected West to be like this. He wasn't sure what he thought of it but.. Well he couldn't help but smile.

"And a large.. Sprite?" that seemed like a safe bet. Once everything was there, he paid and shoved the candy in his pockets before grabbing the popcorn, motioning to the drink with his head. "Uhm.. Do you mind?" He sheepishly and quietly spoke.

With everything in tow they made their way to the theatre. He decided to let West pick the seats, since he himself did not have any preference.

West smiled slightly when Emmett ordered a Sprite for them. You could tell a lot by a man based on what kind of soda he ordered. Actually, no, that was a bunch of bullshit. Buzzfeed would have a field day on one of those kind of quizzes though. If he had to guess a choice of Sprite was a considerate choice, a good way to play things safe. He thought about teasing Emmett for his choice but decided against it. Some people weren’t too keen on his dry humor and he did not want to accidently offend the guy…which was a first for him.

”No problem,” West replied with a smile as he grabbed the soda from the counter. He followed his date to the room where the movie would be played and took a look around. There were a lot of middle aged ladies (no surprisingly), one or two couples, and some creepy looking dude posted up near the back of the theater.

”Shit, this show is like a magnet for desperate housewives,” West whispered in Emmett’s ear before he decided on a row around the middle. One could never go wrong with middle seats. He plopped himself down in almost the exact middle then patted the seat beside him for Emmett.
