The hunt had finally come to an end. Weeks of preparation had finally led up to this moment.Peter admired his handiwork, running a gloved hand along the female's jawline and moving her hair out of her face. He wanted her identity to be known. This woman had ended the life of another young woman she lived in the same building as. It was all so this woman could get the apartment with the best view. Such a petty reason for murder. Such a punishable reason. And now she would be on display in her own living room in the home she had literally killed for. The irony was sweet.
Peter stood and carefully stepped around the body. He pulled the woman's phone out of her purse and pulled a device out of his pocket. It was a recording of his voice through a scrambler. Dialing the police station, Peter smirked behind the mask and once the operator answered he pressed play.
"Latrodectus, or more commonly known as the Black Widow, produces a neurotoxin that is extremely deadly. I, just like that spider, have a bite that is worse than my bark. Come to 224 B Hamilton Street Apartment 5 if you dare.." He ended the call then stopped his recording. He pocketed his recorder and put the girl's phone in her hand. A fire was going in the fireplace and he tossed the gloves into it. Fire was the best way to get rid of evidence. That and moving water such as oceans and rivers.
Calmly and cooly Peter locked the door then left the apartment via the fire escape, using a magnet to lock the window again. He slid down the ladder of the fire escape, smirking as he jogged down the alley and began to run down the streets of downtown Salem. He was sure to go down streets that were not direct ways to the apartment, certain the police would try to corner him with his handiwork. They never did, of course. The Widowmaker was notorious for giving them the slip.
It was good to be back in the game. He had a dry spell there for a while but now he was able to get back into what he did best.
