Name || Griffin Charles Doherty
Nicknames/Aliases || he goes by Griff to pretty much everyone he’s met. He likes nicknames but for some reason never seems to acquire any!
Age/Year/School || He’s 21 and a junior at Metric College.
Zodiac || His birthday was October 29th, and he is a Scorpio
Reason for Enrolling || Acting. Ever since he was young, Griffin’s always loved to take on a completely new face when on stage or pretend to be a different person entirely for his games. He has a real talent for it and getting into character. He uses his different characters in co-hosting the radio show to be entertaining and likes to participate in the theater department on campus.
GPA || His grades are average at best – while he enjoys being in school, Griffin has never had a good memory and thus tests awfully.
Gender || Male.
Sexuality || Gay
Health Issues? || Nothing major; he requires glasses and is usually in them. He does own contacts, but they always hurt his eyes so he only really likes to wear them when he’s on camera or when he needs to! If he’s just spending a day being lazy, he’ll opt for his glasses instead of his contacts.

Job || It’s not much – Griffin works part time at a hardware store as a cashier. Now, he’s awful with cars and mechanics and hardware and everything and his coworkers and boss know this. Griffin is often only used to help customers check out and if they come with him with a question he tries to answer – but often fails to and winds up making the customer more annoyed in the first place. Griffin isn’t that happy about his job and wants to leave, but fears his boss’ and coworkers reactions when he eventually does. He also needs the money to pay his share of the rent and utilities to Helena – about 1/3rd of it is paid by him.
Reputation || Griffin is best known for his friendships and for being the co-host of the Metric Radio Show.
Friends || He’s got three absolute best friends: Helena, Oliver, and Nova. The three of them are the heart and soul of the radio club on campus and always host when they can, even despite the fact Helena is a graduate now!
Enemies/Rivals || Griffin likes to think he has no enemies or rivals – he hates people hating him, and goes through great lengths to cover up any ill feelings he might have towards anyone.
Relationship Status || Single. He’s never been in a relationship and doesn’t let that bother him at all. Unfortunately for Griffin, his lackluster dating record is mainly due to the fact any time he’s had feelings for anyone, he represses the feelings until the person has moved out of his life or he’s moved on personally. He’s always known he was attracted to men and for him, his sexuality itself has never been a big deal – getting a date, however, is excruciatingly difficult! To add insult to injury, for the past few years Griffin has been nursing a crush on one of his best friends, Oliver.
Clubs and Organizations || First and foremost, Griffin is a co-host for the Metric Radio Show. He loves the show and is always at every club meeting and is often co-hosting with his friend Oliver. Through that club he met some of his best friends and he will be sad to leave it upon graduating (though if Helena is any indication, he’ll still be coming back post graduation!) Secondly, Griffin is a member of the GSA, though he’s not the most devout member, he does attend most meetings and participate in events.

Family ||
Lysander Doherty – Father – Receptionist – 49 || Lysander is a pretty good father, in Griffin’s opinion, though he is colder than his wife is. It’s not that Lysander is deliberate in this either – he’s just not good with people. Lysander is the one who encouraged Griffin probably the most in pursuing a career in acting and going to Metric Academy. Though he was the most surprised when Griffin came out (he thought Griff was actually hiding a relationship with his roommate Louise) he was just as accepting as the rest of the family, though he generally avoids discussing dating or sexual topics with his children in general.
Isadora Doherty – Mother – Self-employed Seamstress – 49 || Mrs. Doherty has always has an ambition to make her own money but has always struggled keeping a job for very long due to her finicky attitude about going to shifts and work. She always had a hobby for crafting clothing, and when the internet became popular, she decided to open up her own little business on MySpace, using her account to show off her work and getting business that way by mailing out her things for profit. It didn’t take off for a few years, and when MySpace crashed, she gave up. However she decided to give it a go again by making a Facebook page. To her surprise, a model actual shared her page and ever since then she’s had huge business and profit. Now Isadora is always creating clothes at her own schedule and shipping them out on the daily. She’s got her own sewing room back home and everything! Griffin has always admired his mother’s skill at business and marketing, and even helped her out a lot as a teen by creating logos for her and helping her create social media accounts to share her business. Griffin often plugs his mother’s clothes on the Metric Radio Show (even though he’s technically not supposed to). Isadora has always been accepting of Griffin and was the first family member he came out to.
Colin Doherty – Older Brother – 26 – Med Student || Colin was the first born child of his parents and the role model, framework, and goal of all the kids who came after him (and boy did he know it). Colin is almost insufferably egotistical, and practically in love with himself. He has no time for relationships or forming a family and instead is devoting himself to become a surgeon when he graduates. Valedictorian of his high school class and aspiring to be the same of his college class, Colin is rarely seen ‘fooling around’ or ‘making friends’. He does, however, care about his family and when present at reunions he’s never shut someone down before (though he is stiff and hard to talk to). He loves kids and tends to gravitate towards the youngest children at events. Griffin likes Colin, and was often told to aspire to be like him when he got older. Though he turned out nothing like Colin, Griffin hopes he at least shares the same ‘good head on his shoulders’ thing his parents always wanted him to have.
Henry Doherty – Younger Brother – 18 || Of all his brothers, Griffin is probably closest to Henry. Henry looks to Griffin as someone who has been through what he’s been through. He was raised in Colin’s shadow, he’s always got his chin up, and he’s gone through the same curriculum. Henry struggles with his classwork, school is not his thing. Often Griffin will tutor him or help him with his homework via the easily accessibility of skype between the brothers. While it does seem like Henry often takes advantage of Griffin’s hospitality and willingness to help him out, Griffin wouldn’t mind even if that were the full case, because he feels good just helping out family.
Josh Doherty – Youngest Brother – 14 || Josh and Griffin have little in common. While Griffin has tried to reach out to Josh it seems like Josh just has other things to worry about than bonding with his brothers. Josh tends to hole himself up in his room and not talk to anyone. Griffin is concerned about him, but doesn’t want to be annoying and nosey.
Extended Family (varying ages and careers – The Doherty Family || When it comes to families, Griffin’s is not lacking. Every so often there are family reunions, cookouts, and parties. Every other week in the summer it seems like Griffin is being whisked off to go to a wedding or a barbeque. Sometimes, he’ll invite his friends to come along with him, especially now that he’s older and has his own method of transportation to get to events. Among the family it’s constantly a joke about how Griffin’s immediate family has nothing but boys, boys, boys!
Hometown || Sheffield, England.
Vehicle/Transportation || He doesn’t own a car; Helena gives him rides occasionally, and he also owns a bike that he uses to go to and from school.
Current Living Arrangement || Griffin shares a three bedroom apartment with Helena. His bedroom is the one in the lower left of the picture. He enjoys having his own apartment away from the dorms though he does miss his family. Often, Nova comes over and spends the night in the third bedroom – so often, in fact, that it’s almost as though they share the apartment three ways. Since Helena pays the most for the apartment, Griffin didn’t mind giving her the larger master bedroom. Griffin’s room is mainly blue and green colors, with recording equipment and his things neatly put away.
Backstory || Griffin was born the middle child of the Doherty family. He grew up in Northern England, though half of his extended family had already moved to America years prior. Despite the distance between the families, reunions happened typically twice a year. Once a year, the family in the US would travel out to the UK, and once a year the family in the UK would travel to the US. Griffin grew up with a passport and a vast knowledge of airports, even going as far as personally knowing a few of the staff when they’d go through each year. Occasionally, for big events, the families would make multiple annual trips across country.
Griffin was 8 when his family packed up and moved house to the US, because they wanted to be closer to some of the American family. Upon moving over, it took lots of adjustment for Griffin and his siblings to get used to the change. Griffin didn’t like the way American’s talked funny and thought he talked funny, he didn’t like the way he was a ‘new kid’ halfway through a school year (which he barely understood the makeup of; school as completely different in the states), and he didn’t like how tiny his new room was. But Griffin never complained and even faked enjoyment for being in the States. He didn’t find friends easily, but he did find a hobby: among watching YouTube videos and writing short stories, he discovered a passion for acting, and drafting plays. When he joined his school’s production of Beauty and the Beast playing Lumiere, he made a few friends. With his friends, he would perform little skits in his or their backyards, furthering his passion for acting. One of his childhood friends, Peter, suggested that he go to Metric (the same school he himself wanted to attend). Eager to please and go with his friend, Griffin went to his parents and asked. They were doubtful, but went with Peter’s parents to the open house. When they saw how genuinely Griffin loved the place, they caved and decided to let him attend, glad he had something to enjoy in America.
Griffin and Peter were roommates for their freshman through junior years in High School. At school, Griffin discovered how fun acting classes could be and how fun making friends could be. Peter was always just as social as Griffin was, but a bit meaner, and the friends he surrounded himself with were hostile towards strangers. Still, Griffin fit in with the group as their ‘designated nice friend’. While joining clubs his sophomore year, Griffin discovered the Radio Show. It wasn’t the most popular club, but the host at the time was a girl named Helena who was very charismatic and bright. Griffin decided to join the club and met her; starting out as an assistant. Helena was a Freshman in High School when he met her. As he became more experienced in the club, Griffin began to suggest lines and things for the show. Helena loved them and even allowed for him to join her on the air at times to deliver it. Enthusiastic, Griffin told Peter and his friends to check it out. Peter was intrigued at first, and wanted to be introduced to Helena before he discovered what she looked like. Judging her for her weight immediately, Peter discredited anything she said as boring or not funny. Griffin didn’t like the negativity and tried not mentioning her around him, but Peter still knew he was hanging out with her. One night Griffin tried to stand up for Helena and say that Peter was wrong; it resulted in a huge fight that left Griffin crying outside behind the dormitories.
Come senior year Griffin was without peter, his friends, or a designated roommate. He was nervous – the drama last year caused gossip, would his new roommate be mean or hate him? But fortunately, he didn’t experience that with Oliver. He and Oliver became fast friends, and Oliver joined the Radio Club as well. Through that Griffin introduced Oliver to Helena and the three became fast friends. As the years went on, Griffin and Oliver became the hosts of the show, and when Helena graduated last year, she relinquished the position of president to Oliver. When Griffin was a sophomore in college he decided to take Helena up on an offer to split rent on an apartment. Moving out from the dorms was both fun and hard (especially when rooming with Oliver was so much fun). But Griffin loved his new room and independence.
One thing Griffin almost always knew about himself was that he was gay. It wasn’t something he realized one day – he just realized that he was more interested in men and having an open mind was something his family supported. Coming out to them was harder than he expected it to be, though he went through his mother first. He told them all when he was a junior in college, living on his own, and with a friend. While some of them were surprised, the family accepted it pretty readily.
Now, Griffin’s just trying to make a name for himself in the acting field – which is hard, given all of Metric’s talent. He participates in productions and plays on top of the radio show, which has gained popularity recently (mainly of people ‘shipping’ him with Oliver). Someday he’ll make it! Hopefully, anyway.
