Job || Candice works at a bookstore in the mall. She always has to take plenty of hours so she can afford her half of the rent.
Reputation || Coldhearted and quiet, Candice isn’t really well known throughout the school. She would much rather lose herself in her writing and stories. Candice is known as a prudish killjoy around campus. Though in her writing and novels she doesn’t mind and enjoys things like sex scenes and racy scenes, she is very closed off to such things on TV or in real life. She is very blunt about her dislike of things and so many people are put off by her attitude. She has a hot temper and is quick to anger.
Friends || Her best friend is a girl named Erin, who does not attend Metric and instead lives in Salem and attends the community college. She’s much friendlier than Candice is and often will take Candice out around town, trying to get her to open up. While Candice is not a social person she admires and appreciates Erin’s efforts, so often for her sake, she’ll accompany her around.
At Metric, Candice is not really well known and does not have many friends. She does know Carla Davenforth though, and the girls are in some of the same classes and clubs. Candice likes the other quiet girl and feels as though she is easy to get along with since they are similar.
Enemies/Rivals || Candice wouldn’t say that he is an enemy per say, but she finds Willis Dillis, one of her professors, extremely annoying. In fact she and Carla became friends with one another through their mutual distaste for the way he runs a classroom and the writing he expects from his students. Despite her dislike for him she has to take numerous of his classes through ought the school year simply because he’s one of the most active writing professors on campus.
Relationship Status || Single. Erin has hooked her up on a few dates but nothing ever lasted. Candice’s ex-boyfriend from high school, Alex, was a womanizer and cheated on Candice when they were together. And she thought they were high school sweethearts. She was the one who ended things with Alex, and does not communicate with him at all despite his messaging her constantly on Facebook. She had him blocked on numerous accounts and as much as he begs for her to forgive him and that he only loves her, she doesn’t buy it and labels him desperate.

Hair color/style || Brown, usually straightened and worn to her shoulders. Occasionally she will pin it into a bob. She is not a fond of her hair being wild or messy and spends most of her time in the morning straightening it.

She always puts on a full face of makeup done not in a cakey way, but a natural looking way with nude pallets and color schemes. She doesn’t like flashy makeup and rarely applies it unless Erin is dressing her up for a party or some other reason. She does, however, enjoy matte nail polishes and often will have her nails painted a simple color. She doesn’t like fancy nail designs – just simple, one color ones that look professional.
Clothing Style || Hipster-modern. She’s a huge fan of sweaters, sweater-vests, sweater-dresses, and turtleneck shirts/sweatshirts.

Family ||
Sarah Montgomery – Mother – 48 – Therapist || Sarah was always the parent who was more concerned with Candice’s social life. She was the one who tried to get Candice to branch out more as a kid and was extremely glad when Candice began to become friendly with Erin. Sarah is supportive of her daughter in every way though often Candice will joke that Sarah likes Erin better since the two are way more similar than Candice and her mother are.
Joshua Montgomery – Father – 48 – Truck Driver || From a young age Candice was a daddy’s girl, tagging along with him during truck rides for the scenic view. She and he are both realitively quiet though Joshua is more social than Candice is. Like his wife, Joshua is very supportive of his daughter no matter what her passions or interests are.
Ashton Montgomery – Older Brother – 26 – Registered Nurse || Candice is on good terms with her brother though they are not extremely close. He has his life to live and she has hers. Still, the two know they can reply on one another if the other is in a pinch or if they need it. Ashton threatens, jokingly, to hunt down any man or woman who may wish his sister harm.

Backstory || Candice was born and raised in Salem. Ever since she was a kid she was close to her parents, and her brother always distained that he wasn’t the baby of the family anymore. Of her parents Candice was closest to her father. When she was old enough, Candice began to accompany her father in his truck when he drove around the country. Technically he wasn’t supposed to take her with him on company trips, but it was the only way he got to spend time with Candice given his heavy work schedule.
Candice saw the world from the passenger seat of her father’s truck. Or, well, what she assumed was the world. At first she passed the time talking to her father but as she got older, she began to listen to her mp3 player while looking out the window. Doing so gave her inspiration. As she got older she started to take a notebook with her on these excursions and when they reached pit stops, she wrote little stories. Often they were based on the TV shows she was watching or songs she listened to. Her old writing is very melodramatic and she hates to look at it – but likes to laugh at it, sometimes.
When she was about 12, she got involved with Gaia Online, a build-your-own-avatar type of online site. On it, she got involved with the forums and the online roleplaying community. She wound up creating characters and writing with other people, improving her writing all the while. By the time she was in middle school, Candice was devoted to her online friends, worlds, and identity. She did not have any ‘real life’ friends, but that was fine. Her parents were encouraging of her writing though skeptical of her online friends. Candice was sure she would meet her online friends IRL someday, which her parents encouraged but didn’t actually make any motions to do. They didn’t want to deter her from doing what she loved but they wanted their daughter to have more... friends they actually knew.
Candice attended Salem High. When she was a freshman she met Erin, who was in her homeroom, math, and science classes. They wound up sitting beside one another and Erin was more social than Candice was. When Erin first invited Candice over to her house to hang out, her parents were enthusiastic to let her go.
Over the years, Candice and Erin became best friends. They had sleepovers every weekend. Erin had way more friends than Candice did and often invited her out to parties and the like. At one of these parties, Candice met Alex – who became her first boyfriend. They were high school sweethearts. They graduated together and had a long distance relationship when Alex traveled to Massachusetts for college. During winter break, when Alex was finally home, Candice saw that he had texts from another girl. Not usually one to get jealous, Candice had a bad feeling, and looked them over. They were about hookups and pictures from a girl he’d obviously met at college. When she confronted him he admitted to cheating on her and she broke up with him. Alex tried to insist that was just because he got horny at college but that he really loved Candice. She blocked him everywhere and spent the night sobbing to Erin about it.
Candice began to move on and insisted she was through dealing with piggish guys, and focused instead on girls. While she has never dated another girl she is attracted to them and tends to lean more towards them. She and Erin moved in together the beginning of the sophomore year. Candice is still an active member in her roleplaying communities and often writes on forums, as well as writing for her own personal entertainment. Her dream is to someday become a novelist.
