||Jose's Apparel||
He had to cancel his classes for the day. It wasn't fair to the students if they did not have him teaching at his full mental capacity. And right now, he was most clearly not. Since the previous night Jose had consumed.. three pints of Ben and Jerry's working his way through the stash he had. First it was Cherry Garcia (The first to go because of the name being so close to Angelo's last name), then Half Baked, then Phish Food.. The current flavor he was currently working on was Chunky Monkey and it was slow going. Every two bites in Jose would have to stop and weep, his knees practically up to his chest.
He couldn't bear the thought to be home and alone all day so he had shut himself into his office at work. He had drawn the blinds and turned the lights off because after a while the light stung his tear-logged eyes. If he were at home he would be playing music or even curled up on the couch watching Labyrinth or the notebook or one of the other movies he had with him.
The thought of having to travel though to pick up his things from their.. Angelo's.. apartment sickened him. They had been together for almost three years and the biggest fight that had ever occurred between them was a tie between which families they visited on holidays and who deserved more closet space. Both of which had been easily solved with compromise. Of course that was before Jose took the job at Metric..
But this time.. This time was different. He knew that Angelo didn't like them being so far away from each other and they had argued about it before. Jose was ready to make it work, offering to visit on the weekends and holiday breaks. But Angelo was not convinced. "Long distance relationships never work, Jose. And if you stay in Salem we won't work!"
Things had escalated between them from there, eventually climaxing to Angelo declaring "It's me or the job, Jose! You can't have both!"
Jose had been unable to answer. Angelo knew how important it was to Jose to have dance be a part of his life. He was not content being stuck in an apartment all day, waiting for Angelo to come home from work like some 1950's housewife. That was not Jose at all. And Angelo, not hearing a response had announced that they were through.
Scooping another spoonful into his mouth, Jose let out a new wave of tears. Who was going to want him now? He was not as young and spry as he once was and all the guys he had ever met before Angelo were only interested in one night stands or.. younger men. Jose was going to turn 36 this year! and for the last three years he had thought that he would e with Angelo for the rest of his life. Now what was he going to do?
