It had been hours since their search, but no one had yet to get in contact with Chardonnay, and Olivia didn't know what to do anymore. She was out of the city limits now, going to every five star hotel she could find, searching the parking lot, demanding that she know where her daughter was to the people at the front counter. But there was nothing. Her car was no where, and no one was giving her any information on what was happening to her daughter. She called Susan to tell her the news hours ago, saying that she was going to keep going, that she was going to keep looking for her daughter for how ever long it took.
But now that the sun was setting, Olivia felt lost. She was terrified and crying as she drove down the roads. Thomas hadn't heard anything from her, and Chardonnay's phone was still off. In fact, her answering machine was so full that no one could leave any messages anymore. God, she just wanted to see her daughter, to hold her, to make sure that she was okay.
Her last option was to go to the police now. She had talked to Susan about it, yet neither had spoken to Arthur about the plan--Susan had mentioned it briefly to him, but no decision had been made. It was the only thing that Olivia could think to do. if they couldn't find her daughter, maybe the cops would be able to. But fuck, she just wanted to find her daughter! Why did the banks close so early? Why couldn't someone answer the phone and tell her if her daughter had used her credit card to buy something?
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
"I feel like we have to go to the police," Olivia said on the phone to Susan, sniffling, trying not to break down and sob. "We have to. I think it's the only way. But... We have to call Arthur. Can you get him on the phone?"
-------
"I don't have any other information on Ms. Nicholas at this moment," the nurse said, giving Arthur and leveled gaze, "so I guess you are going to have to wait for Dr. Marshall to finish doing what it is he's doing. So, please, take a seat in the waiting room. You'll be called when anything is known."
