||Appearance & Personality||
Appearance: Gus considers himself a very handsome man with chocolatey skin and dark--almost black--eyes. His hair--if it were to grow out it would be a mess of curls so he keeps it shaved close to his head--is black but do to his age grey is starting to mix in, albeit very slowly. He attributes this to the stress Shawn puts him under. Gus stands at about 5’10” and weighs approximately 165 lbs.
Personality: Gus’ personality is a complicated one as it changes based on whom he is around. When teaching a class or with other professionals his demeanor is quiet, reserved, and thoughtful. All around very professional. However, once you add Shawn into the mix that persona breaks down and he becomes a mixture of irritable (but pleasantly so for the most part) and maybe just a bit childish. SHawn brings out the inner child in Gus and they feed off each other. In all honesty, Shawn helps Gus to live.

Backstory: Gus was born and raised in Salem, California. After a long life living in the town and attending Salem high with his best friend Shawn Taylor, Gus attended Harvard and pursued a double major in Education and Mathematics. After obtaining a master’s in both he returned to his hometown and was offered a position at Metric Academy, which he accepted. After getting his own apartment, Gus had a roommate for a while but it ended badly with Gus kicking the guy out. After living alone for three years Shawn came back to town and naturally Gus offered his friend a place to stay. Shawn has never left.

Christopher Shawn Taylor
Christopher Shawn Taylor
Gus' best friend since childhood and current roommate. His relationship with Shawn is complicated, yet simple. Shawn likes to drag Gus into his many schemes which as teens got them into trouble more than once. His parents don’t like Shawn but Gus’ loyalty to his friend surpasses their opinions. No matter what, Gus has Shawn’s back and he knows vice versa is also true.
They met in elementary school, when he and Shawn were assigned seats beside each other. Bonding over their shared love of pineapples--among many other things-- they quickly became friends. What made their friendship even more successful was the fact they did not live too far from each other. They were familiar with each other’s homes, usually able to walk right in and feel welcome. Sleepovers and weekend movie marathons were frequent occurrences in the Taylor and Masterson homes.
In middle school and high school their friendship began to closely resemble what it is now, with Shawn constantly bringing Gus into his schemes. During this time they both got into trouble--with many different authority figures. This is what caused Gus’ parents’ distrust of his friend but he refused to break off the friendship.
When College rolled around, Gus and Shawn went their separate ways with Gus going to college in the other side of the country. They lost touch for several years until Shawn rolled into town on his motorcycle, looking for a place to stay. Gus offered for him to spend a few nights but it turned into a roommate relationship and in all honesty, Gus wouldn’t have it any other way. He can’t imagine going through life without his best friend at his side.
