Miles' outfit w/o hat
The morning had passed relatively slowly, a few students popped in here and there but they hadn't stayed long. Just pre-test jitters and post-project uncertainties, nothing that really screamed 'challenge!'. Miles supposed it was a good thing, since it made for an easy transition in to the weekend. But then again, he didn't like sitting at his desk with nothing to do but twiddle his thumbs. He'd already undergone some serious file organization and now that he was just finishing the last of it up he dreaded the next five hours. If they were as slow as the morning had been he'd be tempted to stray from his office and just offer his help elsewhere.
Luckily though, he got a phone call. Miles smiled at the first ring because he just knew what it entailed. No one called him just because, not on his office phone at least. This meant interesting prospects, and it was the perfect time to say the least. "Counselor's office," he greeted mildly, holding back the enthusiasm in his voice - or trying to. "mm. Yes, well - that's what I'm here for! Send her on over, yeah, thanks bye."
Miles nestled the phone back and grinned with joy. This wasn't his first troubled case, far from it, but still - he was excited considering the uneventful Friday thus far. Students who came to him against their will were always the most interesting to counsel. They tended to have a prejudiced idea of what they were being pushed in to, always hesitant to walk in to his office and never the first to speak. Of course, since Miles was a big fan of surprises he never held on to his preconceived expectations too tightly.
Gathering up the last remnants of his files, he stored them away in the cabinet behind his desk and awaited the girl - pulling up her records on his computer just to get a general idea of who would be soon to step in to his domain.
