Griffin moved with Kerry, who was actually quite the dancer! The guy had a nice laugh, too. His eyes weren’t the right shade of brown that Griffin liked, though. He could see Oliver off to the side. He was probably not having fun. Griffin felt bad. He knew Oliver was less social than he was. Why had he invited him out? He wanted to know if Oliver was interested. Or if he was gay – maybe some part of Griffin had been holding out hope that Oliver was gay. But he didn’t know. He looked so out of place.
Griffin tried to focus on Kerry but it was difficult when he was just thinking of Oliver. Maybe he shouldn’t have brought him out if he was going to try to pick up a guy. Griffin wasn’t a slut by any means, but he wasn’t a virgin either. He’d had one or two hookups, but it wasn’t like he was trying to. He was looking for a relationship but no one else ever was.
By the time the song ended, Kerry suggested he and Griffin go to the side to get a drink. Griffin would have agreed if he hadn’t seen Oliver at the bar, talking to a very drunken redhead. It made him freeze for a second, but he shook it off. It was clearly just a conversation. However, he did approach Oliver, slipping into the stool beside him. He ordered a drink form the bartender, and noticed the redhead not notice him or Kerry. He must have assumed they didn’t know each other.
The redhead reached over and touched Oliver’s shoulder, grinning. ”Oliver, no shit? I’m Roland. Pleeeeeasure,” he said, shifting in his seat so he was too close to Oliver. Griffin wasn’t paying attention to Kerry as he talked about the newest Pokemon game. His fingers tightened on the glass in his hand. Roland the redhead nudged Oliver. ”Wanna dance with me?”
