”Sweet.” Victor said, grinning at Greg as he practically down the whole glass himself. Impressive, Victor probably wouldn’t do that, mostly because it was a waste to just down it all and not savor it! But it sure was fun watching Greg do it.
When he suggested maybe the kid died, Victor shrugged. ”Nah. If I was trying to kill that kid it would’ve been way more obvious. No way he’s dead,” Victor said, taking a good gulp of his scotch. He sighed in contentment. ”Might have some serious trauma and brain damage, though.”–
Waiting was excruciating. No one was telling her anything, she knew, probably because she wasn’t family. Greg didn’t ever really talk about his family with her. She didn’t even know any of their names. Ugh, did he even tell her anything? She felt a twitch of annoyance at her uselessness. All she had done was show the nurses a selfie of her and Sean, taken earlier that day. When Sean was all better she was going to be so pissed off at him for not telling her anything about his life, or family!
Police were gone now, likely looking at the crime scene, Shyanne thought. She still had Seans phone for now, and was absently looking at her own, debating texting a friend, when Sean’s phone buzzed. She looked at the call and saw bro on the screen and her throat clenched. Shit. A brother?
She lifted the phone, and almost rejected the call. But even though she was a bitch, and this was her fault, she knew he had a right to know and the hospital needed to get in touch with family.
”You should probably come to Salem. Or get someone to come down here,” She accepted the call, bringing the phone to her ear. She sounded very unlike herself, monotonous and void of any emotion. ”Sean’s in surgery and they’re looking for family.”
