Gwen clapped her hands. Planning things with Dane was always so easy. There was hardly ever an argument specifically, more like a couple of simple back and fourths if anythings. Both of them knew exactly what they wanted and it was just a matter of putting it all together. So they were going to need a little help from Laffie. Who didn't love Laffie? At the suggestion of pizza first being a rule, Gwen raised an eyebrow and thought about it. It did kind of make sense...who could do anything on an empty stomach? Especially when there was so much pizza around? She didn't realize it was an actual rule though. "It's an official rule? When did that happen?" she wondered. "I mean, there's gotta be some sorta committee that comes up with rules like that right? So when was the meeting that they decided that? Oh! Do you think they actually decided that rule while they were eating pizza? Cause that would make a lot of sense, too!"
Dane was probably right. Food for favors was one thing. Food as incentive was something completely different. Come to think of it, so was an exchange. Like if someone wanted to give her a big cookie in exchange for a drawing Gwen wouldn't turn them down. Who wouldn't want a big cookie? She was probably just looking too much into it. As innocent as Gwen was and seemed, she sadly did have clues into the adult world that she probably shouldn't. This was not one of those times where it should be coming out! "You're probably right. We'd get in trouble for bringing cookies to a class we're not allowed to eat in, not to a teacher. So, the cookies are incentive and not bribing." If only other peoples' disagreements could end so easily! Gwen had absolutely no reason to doubt Dane and there was no reason to throw anything else into this. But would they bring other teachers into this and ask for money or anything as well...? "Do you think we should ask Laffie's opinion on that, too? See if he could talk to any teachers or let him know this is a thing for the students and see if anyone else wants to help? Or do you think that's asking too much of him?" If it was or if bringing in any other teachers was going to make it more work and less fun, it definitely wouldn't be worth it. Even if a few extra dollars would help them pay for food and everything, there was no need to make it more complicated than it needed to be!
Her eyes lit up at the mention of Reeses and Hershey's in the cookies. Those sounded so good!Gwen was almost getting hungry thinking about the chocolate melting into the cookies while they were baking in the hot oven, turning into soft and maybe slightly crunchy cookies and being the perfect combination of dough to sugar to chocolate.... She licked her lips, almost wanting to lean back on the swing and melt into a puddle of cookie goodness! It took her a minute or two to come back to reality, as usual. "Maybe if we only had to make two doughs? Like one where we'd mix anything with nuts into it and another with basic cookie ingredients? That way if anyone's allergic to nuts or something there won't be any contamination or mix ups. We might need a few extra supplies but it's not like the candy's gonna go to waste. Anything that's left over we can eat as a reward! And maybe share a little with Laffie and Noni, too." Maybe Gwen would also keep some left over for the next time Tempest would come over!

Carla gave a nod and adjusted his height accordingly, first and foremost. She noticed Clay paying close attention to her notes, reading them over as she spoke. He very much paid attention to detail, something that certainly didn't appear to end with just his job. She'd have to remember to make a note of that later. Carla glanced to him, mentally taking note of his reaction. He sounded calm, though there had been a bit of hesitation at first. He paused when he started to talk about Lucian getting him the job at Metric. Carla didn't pry into it. She saw a fine line between eavesdropping and observing. Very few cases had there been that she recorded bits and pieces of peoples' conversations. Only when they were of any significance did she write those, such as when she made connections to friends, enemies et al. This discussion with Clay would be no different.
When he said he liked to use the gym privately, Carla raised an eyebrow and skimmed through her notes. "Forgive me for sounding as to be judging, but you don't come across as someone interested in the gym." Another thing to make a note of; as Clay did keep his distance it wouldn't be a surprise if working out was something he kept to himself as well. "However I do understand the desire to do something on your own, away from others. I was merely stating it was odd you happened to go in there not long after someone else. For all I know it could be someone you work out with; a spotter, maybe. But it's not my place to go to the point of spying."
She listened to how Clay spoke of Lucian. It sounded as though Clay hadn't been in the best state in some way prior to coming to Metric. Lucian must have been the one to help him through that. Whatever had been going on, anyone would be fortunate to have a friend. Carla couldn't say she understood completely, having only kept one friend for a short period of time. What she did relate to, however, was having that one person around to lean on and trust. "As mentioned, I don't willingly show my notes. But whatever I have written of Lucian should not matter to you; you know him far better as his friend than a mere observer and that is what counts. He is obviously a very important person in your life, a relationship that you have no desire to lose. I too understand the importance of having that one friend. It would be hypocritical of me jeopardize that in any way."
