Mateo sat looking waiting for Tara and her Parents to come over. Today was the day they would tell their Parents that the would be grandparents to twins name Gavin and Olivia. His mind has been thinking about his day since he found they where pregnant. He sat think of what /His Parents would say and watch tara's parents would think.

||Tara's Clothes/Moira's outfit||

Moira sighed and pulled down the visor in the car, opening up the mirror attached to it. After a long day of work, she had to replenish her makeup before their surprise invitation over to the Montoya household. Sure, a dinner with the family of her daughter's boyfriend sounded like a lovely idea but after work she just wanted to kick off her heels and relax on the couch.

At least the drive wasn't too long. But the entire Tate household would not be able to make it, Lachlan having already been invited to a friend's house for the night. Not that her son would have much to say at the dinner anyways.. Moira glanced at her daughter, sitting in the back seat, before sighing and turning her gaze to her husband as he drove.

"When we get home you are going to have to massage my feet because i can tell you right now that they will be yelling at me all evening.." She spoke with a small, playful smile but she was most definitely serious.

Tara was quiet in the backseat, looking out the window and watching the outside go by. This evening was it. She and Mateo would reveal to their parents the lives growing within Tara. The twins they had discovered a few months ago. Little Gavin and Olivia.. Tara had wanted to keep the pregnancy a secret from their parents as long as they could but lately she had started to show and before long it would be painfully obvious.

So the time was now. Oh but she was nervous, terrified even, of how their parents would react. The closer they got to Mateo's house, the more nervous Tara grew. She crossed her arms over her stomach and glanced to the front of the car, where her parents sat. In a way, she was grateful that her little brother wasn't there with them but at the same time, she liked his presence.

The street came up and Tara drew in a sharp, quiet breath. She tried to focus on what Mateo might say to her if he was there beside her. He had told her since the day she told him she was pregnant that he would always be there for her, he brought her to her appointments when he was home, and he helped pick out names with her and everything but..

A sharp movement from within. One of the twins was kicking her. She had a feeling it was Gavin, he was always the more active one whenever she went for an ultrasound, just like his father. Though Olivia did have her moments of restlessness, that was for sure. she just hoped they wouldn't move too much tonight.

Remy had been working in the kitchen for far too long it seemed, but she wanted to get things perfect for their very first meeting with Tara's parents. It was strange, feeling the nervousness that she could only imagine Mateo was feeling ten times over – her hands trembled as she took a large roasted chicken out of the oven and garnished it with rosemary potatoes and steamed carrots. She sighed over the appetizing smells, preparing the table for six. There was no telling if Marques would join them or not, he had been secluding himself in his room a lot more lately.

Marques was in fact in his room, and the ecstasy was just starting to kick in. He never really paid attention to household events, so he forgot guests were even coming though Mateo had told him beforehand. Memory wasn't exactly his strong suit. Sitting up from his resting position on his bed, he opened his bottle of orange juice and chugged it's contents halfway. The euphoria pulled a wide and goofy smile across his lips, a sight not typical of him these days. This was some good stuff. And to think for a while there he thought he'd gotten gypped.

"Yes, of course, I will rub your feet, Moira, as soon as we get home. you Okay dear?"he said as he looked back at tara before the pulled up the street towards Mateo's house. Benji honked his horn as a black car cut them off. "Come on you moron I have my kid in the car. " Benji yelled out his window as they went down the block to Mateos house.

"Hey, Honey I am almost home. " Ethan said as- he used the hands-free calling on his car. He turned down the street as he accidently cut off a GMC terrain as he turned down the street in his new chevy camero. He pulled up and park in the driveway. He smiled as he walked into the house and kissed Remy. "So our guests have arrived yet?" He said as he took his coat off and handing it up.

"Hey close yet?" He texted Tata as he Sat in the living room wait for her family to come over. He was sweating as he thought of how the was going to tell his Parents was killing him. He waited for her answer.

Moira smiled and kissed Benji's cheek before settling back down in her seat, sighing as she looked out the window. She fixed her hair and braced herself when the car cut them off, touching Benji's forearm almost protectively. Her heart was thudding in her chest, but thank goodness nothing terrible happened!

"Honestly! Who drives so reckless?" She sighed and rubbed her forehead, glancing back at Tara for a moment. She then returned her attention to her husband. "I am going to hold you to that, Benji.."

She looked back out the window and squinted, trying to see which house was the right number. When they came upon the house her brows furrowed. "Wait.. isn't that the car that cut us off?"

Tara glanced up at the sound of her father's voice. "I'm fine.. just nervous about you two meeting Mateo's parents is all.." She offered up a small, light laugh.

She braced herself along with her mom and couldn't help but laugh softly at her father's yelling. Of course, she instinctively touched her stomach for a moment then noticed her phone was buzzing. Pulling it out, she read the message from Mateo and sighed, replying to him.

Yeah, we're almost there. Should be a few minutes.

Tara looked up, hearing her mother make a comment and she looked out the window, laughing kind of softly. Well, this certainly was going to be an interesting dinner.. But then the nerves of that night caught up to her again and she settled back into her seat, wrapping her arms around herself.

Sophia's outfit - shoes

Driving over to her parent's house from class, Sophia was glad she'd been able to make it on time. She kept busy most days with class and work, as well as writing her own concertos on her free time - it wasn't often she got to spend quality time with her family. When she did, she enjoyed it. She wasn't paying much attention to anything but the road when she heard a car honk - catching the incident by chance and shaking her head when she recognized the Camero as her dad's new car. If that wasn't enough, she witnessed the car he had cut off follow his route and park in front. It was, wasn't it? She sighed as she parked and shrugged. Meeting her brother's girlfriend's parents hadn't worried her one bit, but the fact that her dad just pulled a jerk move like that did.

Sophia waited in her car until their guests got out of theirs and walked over, "Hi!" she waved once she met a friendly distance, "It's funny I catch you all out here, I'm Sophia, Mateo's big sister." she introduced, shaking hands with Tara's parents before smiling warmly at Tara, "Here, I'll show you in!" she began to walk toward the front door, "And sorry about my dad, he just got that Camero and he can't stop testing out his gas pedal. He must've been in a big rush to get here before you all did." Sophia hoped that it was apology enough on her dad's behalf, it hadn't been anything too serious but she really didn't want Tara's parents starting off on the wrong foot with hers!

"Qui mon cher, see you soon," Remy got off the phone with Ethan and finished up the places, pausing to spruce up before the hallway mirror - looking out the window to the front walkway and seeing Ethan arrive. She greeted him with a kiss and shook her head, "No, should be any minute. Everything is all ready." she smiled, "I don't know about you, but I'm a little nervous!" Remy admitted with a strained laugh, folding her arms over each other as she stole a glance out the window again to see Sophia and their guests arrive. "Oh look!" she said happily, "Let's play good hosts!" she joked to her husband before approaching the door to let everyone in.

"Bonjour and welcome!" Remy grinned, hugging Sophia before she passed through. "Smells so good, Mère!" Sophia complimented, setting her bag down upon the foyer table and inviting the others to do the same with a gesture of her hand.

Marques heard the commotion downstairs during a lapse between songs, pulling off his headphones and listening as he could swear he heard voices he wasn't used to hearing in the house. Then he remembered, shit. It was the day that Mateo was going to bring the girl he got pregnant over. So that was why his twin looked so off earlier today. Marques got up from his bed and listened at his door before opening it carefully - glancing at his view of the entry from over the staircase banister.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Tate welcome to my home. Feel free to make yourselves at home."Mateo said talking over them smiling as he brought them into the living room to sit. "Dinner will be ready soon."he said as he smiled at tara,
"Tara? can we talk in Private?"Mateo said to her as he hugged and kissed her cheek. "You ready your this?" he said to her as he put his arms around her as he kissed her and her belly.

Moira nodded in agreement and got out of the car, blinking as they were greeted by a fine young lady whom introduced herself as Mateo's sister. Moira smiled warmly in greeting. "Oh, my dear, it is quite alright. I am certain he had his explanation and thankfully no one was hurt."

She looped her arm through her husband's and offered a welcoming smile to Mateo's parents when they opened the door. Firmly shaking each of their hands, she nodded slightly, laughing and placing her hand over her chest. "Oh my, you do not have to call me that. Moira will do just fine. It is my name, after all. And no need to apologize, it is forgotten."

Her eyes flitted over to Mateo when he welcomed them and pulled Tara off somewhere private. Moira smiled as Benji offered the cake and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear before clasping her hands together. "I have to agree with your daughter. Your house smells wonderful, like you've been cooking up a storm!"

Tara smiled warmly at Sophia. She hadn't met Mateo's older sister but she liked her already. Tara laced her fingers together and followed her parents to the house, giving a small wave to the Montoya parentals. "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Montoya.."

She pursed her lips and watched the parents interact, feeling this was already off to a good start. They seemed to get along, so that was good. She turned and looked up at Mateo when he appeared, a smile growing on her face. She allowed him to lead her away from prying eyes. She grinned as he kissed her but she opened her mouth to tell Mateo he shouldn't kiss her stomach.

Too late.. Gavin kicked Mateo through the wall of her stomach and she giggled, covering her mouth. "I was about to warn you that Gavin has been really restless lately.." She whispered to him then sighed. "As ready as I'll ever be.."

Sophia certainly was glad how everything seemed to be turning out for the better, smiling over the exchage between parents before she stepped aside. She had rushed over here without taking a restroom break and that was exactly what she needed right now! On her way to the downstairs restroom though, she saw her brother stoop to kiss his girlfriend's belly – turning the corner and entering the bathroom with wide eyes. There had to be another explanation for that, right?

“Oh merci beaucoup Moira! I've been in the kitchen since I don't know when! I'm Remy, and this is my husband Ethan – so glad he didn't run you off the road! He can be so dangerous behind the wheel, that's why I drive most of the time.” she laughed amicably, turning to Moira at her comment. “Well it's not often I get to cook for guests, I'm usually lazy and order out – but since Mateo has told us how special today is for him, I thought I'd go all out. I see you did the same Benji!”

Remy grinned gratefully as she led them out of the foyer and towards the dining room. “You can set the cake here and we can cut in to it later, as long as we're all not stuffed already,” she joked and gestured to a decorative table along the wall of the dining room which had enough cleared surface to hold the dessert. “Please feel free to sit down, I hope you all don't mind water with your meal – we do have some juice and wine but we've cut back on soda.” Remy informed as she moved around, beginning to fill everyone's glasses.

Marques wasn't sure what he should do, though he knew he was obligated to be there if only to support Mateo. But any guilt or uncertainty was easily washed away by the waves of joy that tingled at his arms. They would all be wonderful, because the world was a wonderful place. He grinned as he decidedly shuffled out of his room – his hands restless as they moved along the soft fabric of his pajama shorts. They felt so good, how could he resist?

His bare feet pattered down the stairs, turning and noticing Mateo with his girlfriend right off the bat. Marques approached them with a dreamy grin, his eyes abnormally dilated. “Today's the day, huh,” he spoke to them both before reaching out and pulling them in to a double hug, which was definitely something he wouldn't have done normally. “good luck lovebirds.” Marques said once he pulled away, not really seeing a baby bump on Tara yet but that didn't mean the babies weren't coming. They were probably still just really, really small. He thought about that for a moment, then thought about Mateo and him in their mother's stomach...what a trip.

"Hey I am not that bad of a driver."he said turning back to help Remy bring the food to the table. "Sophia! Marques dinner is ready?"he Called up as the food was ready.

"Yeah my Son made it for you guys. He is a baker at metric."Banji said laughing at remy's comments, "Thanks I will just have some water please."he said to remy as he looked to Moira. "So what do you guys do?"he asked Ethan and Remmy.

"Well your food smells wonderful, Remy. I am sure it tastes as heavenly as the scent of it suggests. And water is most certainly fine!" She watched her husband put the cake in its spot, nodding along with his statement. Lachlan had made the cake as an apology for his absence. Such a sweet boy, he was.

Taking a seat, she sighed happily, glad to be off of her feet for the time being. She folded her napkin into her lap, which was honestly such a habit from work but it was most certainly applicable to how nice everything looked and she didn't want to seem uncultured or anything. When Tara and Mateo returned, she picked up on Ethan's comment of a gallery. She recalled Tara saying something about that but she supposed now she could ask Ethan about it.

Tara's eyes widened when Marques approached her and Mateo, taking note of how dilated his eyes were. Stiffening as he hugged them, she glanced to Mateo out of the corner of her eye. This seemed highly uncharacteristic of his twin, considering what little Mateo mentioned of his brother's personality.

"Umm.. Thank you, Marques.." She spoke quietly but narrowed her eyes at Mateo, flicking his ear the way she did when he was being a jerk. "Mateo, you could be nicer about it, you know.." She spoke softly then looked to Marques with an apologetic smile as she got whisked back to the dining room.

Mateo's father's question caused her to blush. "Oh, Mr. Montoya, I am afraid my drawings aren't that good.." She laughed it off and sat down with Mateo, waiting for dinner to begin.

Typically Marques wouldn't be phased by his twin at all. He wouldn't even be out of his room - but the hits had encouranged him to show up and be there for his bro, only for the gesture to be thrown back in his face. Rejection. A dormant sensitivity was struck deep and Marques' euphoria was deflated before them. He turned away without a word and went up to his room, shutting the door softer than usual. He didn't answer his fathers call to dinner.

Sophia exited the bathroom just in time, having taken a few minutes to fishtail braid her hair back from her face. She strolled in to the dining room and took the spot next to Tara with a friendly smile. She was still pondering on Mateo kissing the girl's stomach. Every explanation she could think of just... didn't seem possible, aside fro the most obvious of possibilities. The very idea of being an Auntie so early was shocking - but, she was definitely getting ahead of herself! She busied her hands while everyone talked, unfolding her napkin and apologizing softly when she unintentionally made her silverware clink together.

As Remy brought out the food with Ethan, she was so glad to see both Mateo and Tara settling in. "Oh I agree mon cher - thay make a better couple than we would have at their age!" she joked with a little nudge before making sure they brought out everything - returning from the kitchen with a medium-sized basket of croissants.

"We run an art gallery uptown, Benji!" she informed graciously, "It is wonderful and fulfilling work. Plus when we have to, we can close up and make time for family - like we had to do when I had Mateo and his brother. Having twins is one crazy experience, but having them without Ethan around to help would have killed me!" Remy sat down next to her husband, smiling gratefully at him before planting a peck to his cheek. "Oh! Everyone don't be shy, please, dig in!" She recalled, adding, "Ethan please carve some chicken for us all?"

He said as he made his brother come with him downstairs. "Sorry about that this is Marques my twin." He said as they sat down as he smiled at Tara and Marques,

Ethan cut up the chicken and passed the Chicken Plate along to Benji and Moira. "Yeah, it's nice. so what you two do?"he asked as he looked at Remy.

"Well, I run a company named Grandpa Pete's general store. We have locations throughout out California and Austraila." Benji said as he took some of the chicken and put it on his Plate.

Graciously, receiving the plate of the most wonderfully-scented chicken ever from her husband, Moira served herself and passed it along. Listening to the conversations while passing everything else along, making sure to take some for herself of course. Her brows raised slightly as Remy spoke of owning an art gallery, as yes her question had already been answered.

She offered a slight smile. "Oh, I can only imagine, Remy. Tara and Lachlan were a handful enough as is, I can't imagine having them at the same time." She let out a soft laugh then folded a napkin into her lap, glancing at Sophia when the girl apologized. "Oh my dear Sophia, it is quite alright."

Moira returned her attention to Ethan and Remy when they asked what it was she and Benji did for a living. Naturally she let Benji go first, placing her hand over his as he spoke of his company. She was so proud of him, she really was. "I am afraid I don't do anything nearly as exciting.."

She removed her hand from her husband's. "I am just one of many designers under the employment of Forever 21.. I commute to work in Los Angeles every day."

She settled down into her seat and began to unfold a napkin into her lap. The thought hit her that in a short while she wouldn't even have a lap to cover. The arrival of Sophia sitting beside her was enough to shake her from her thoughts and Tara offered the older girl a welcoming smile.

"Your mother's food smells absolutely delicious," she whispered so as not to disturb their parents' conversation.

Oh indeed the food did smell wonderful. It all just looked so good, Tara had to remind herself to be careful about how much food she took. while she was technically eating for three, she knew the surprise did not want to be revealed by something as small as how much she ate. Even at home she was careful, but always went back for leftovers after dinner claiming she hadn't realized how hungry she really was. It had seemed to do the trick.

Her ears pricked at Remy's comments about having twins and it was all Tara could do not to wince. She was successful but the thought of how much work and effort was going to go into raising Gavin and Olivia.. Now more than ever she was so grateful Mateo had decided to stay with her. But at the same time, she did worry if perhaps they were making the right decision. Would they be able to follow their plans for the future? Oh, they had to. She was certian they could do it.. Right?

Tara looked up as Mateo returned with Marques, offering the two a small smile. Receiving the plates and whatnot of food as they were passed around, she sniffed at the air. She could not wait to dig into dinner, even if Gavin was going to be restless this evening, it seemed.

Remy laughed along with Moira, “It is something that really stretches the imagination!” she joked lightly as she waved the subject of childbirth and rearing out of the dinner conversation – turning to Benji as she listened to him with interest. “Oh that is wonderful, Benji! Do you often visit Australia? My parents live in France while Ethan's live in Spain, so I know how not having your family close is. We have visited both sides of the family as much as we can, but it just isn't wise financially to do so every year.” She shrugged good naturedly, listening to Moira now as she spoke of her career. “It takes dedication to commute like that! You know, I wonder if I have any of your designs in my closet as we speak! Sophia here got me hooked on the store.”

Sophia shook her head in attempt to deny her involvement between her mother and the store. “All I did was walk us in front of it and you ran in!” she laughed – glancing at her brothers in astonishment the moment they entered the dining room.

At first Marques wanted to be stubborn and not listen to Mateo's apology, but he couldn't – especially not tonight. He received his hug awkwardly at first, but then brought his arm around and reciprocated it. “It's alright, I get it.” he assured, “It's cool. Don't worry about me,” Marques let a smile pull upon his lips, not pulling away when his brother brought him downstairs with him. When Mateo introduced him, he was emboldened – giving a wave to Tara's parents and not paying attention to the surprise upon both his mother and Sophia's face. He sat at the furthest end of the table and stared blankly when the chicken plate was passed to him, letting Sophia take it instead. “You're not going to eat?” she asked, which prompted Marques to lie if only a little. “I forgot today was the big dinner. I ate not even an hour ago.”

Remy, knowing that her son wasn't telling the truth glanced over at her husband before speaking. “Well we are just relieved that you decided to join us, Marques. Eat whenever you feel hungry.” She encouraged, her smile was feeble but genuine. He hadn't eaten dinner with them in close to a year, so this was grounds for surprise -what made her even more surprised was when he responded to her words with a wide, handsome grin. Something was off about him, but she didn't want to disrupt the dinner while things were going so well!
